FAQs
Q: How do I join classes in person?
A: In person classes will be posted on our Monthly Schedule Calendar, on our social media, and via newsletter. Simply show up 5-10 minutes prior to the start of class at the specified location and time to join us.
Q: Why isn’t the Google Calendar Class Schedule viewable on my mobile/tablet?
A: Click this link to view the calendar in another window. Click “month” at the top of the calendar to view the whole month. You may need to be signed into your Google account to view the calendar. Another alternative is to set your browser settings to allow cross-site tracking. Visit your browser’s Preferences/Privacy and uncheck “prevent cross-site trafficking”. I also post our schedule on Instagram @wildintentyoga
Q: How can I pay?
A: Cash and Venmo are accepted for both in person and online classes. Payment must be received before class begins. There will be a box to drop cash payments at in person classes. When you sign up for our online classes, you will receive the password to access the Class Portal after we receive your signed waiver and payment.
Q: Wait, there’s a little paperwork to get started?
A: Yes. You must sign a waiver before participating in any type of class (in person or online) taught by Wild Intent Yoga, Kelsey Walling, or Victoria Eagle. Waivers will be provided by the instructor and kept on file.
Q: What should I bring to class?
A: All you will need is your yoga mat and a water bottle. Depending on colder weather, bring a couple of layers. The space does have central heat and air, but it can be nice to cuddle up for savasana! I will bring props with me for you to use. I have blocks, straps, myofascial release balls and padding for knees.
Q: What if I am new to yoga?
A: Hey, no worries! We all start somewhere. I am just thrilled you are interested in connecting your mind and body through movement and breath. What to expect: a cheerful greeting from me, a group of fun folks, and a light-hearted time. You will fill out a waiver when you first arrive in order to participate in class. You won’t need to sign one again unless I have created a new waiver. Yoga is about turning inward to find peace, stability and comfort. If you ever have any questions let me know! I am happy to answer them or guide you in the right direction. I do a lot of demos of the poses (using my body to show you the pose), and my cueing (the words I say to get you into or out of a certain shape) is pretty direct. It is totally okay to be unfamiliar with yoga. I hope to create an environment to support you and your journey into this beautiful, fulfilling practice.
Q: What does 500 RYT mean?
A: RYT means ‘registered yoga teacher’. This registration happens when a certified yoga instructor registers their Yoga Teacher Training certificate with the Yoga Alliance. The Yoga Alliance claims that they have rigorous standards in an attempt to show that a yoga school is credible. Whether this is true or not is debatable, but I have seen that they are upping their game in terms of community member support. I decided to register with YA to be on their registry, receive member benefits, and just in case a studio I want to work for requires it. As for 500 RYT, that means that I have taken 500 (more, actually) hours of training from an accredited yoga school. I completed the introductory level, a 200 hour study, and then moved on to complete an additional 300 hours in an advanced training.
