Hi, it’s me Kelsey!
I thought I’d do a proper introduction about me and my intentions as a yoga instructor.
When I was a child, meditation found me first. I loved to create a relaxing environment in my room. I would turn on the zen music channel and clear my mind. i’m not sure how this came to be, but I know I discovered the quieting of my mind from classical music, so perhaps it evolved from that same space.
My appreciation for the physical yoga practice started many years ago as a teenager practicing yoga on a program on PBS I set the practice aside until i moved back to amador in 2014. I have spent the last 8 years cultivating my own personal practice.
From 2020-2022, I took my time diving into 500 hours of study with authentic movements. I found my teachers on instagram many years before that, back when instagram was a touch more humble.
Both my practice and teaching style are highly inspired by my teachers, Erin Kelly, Stevi Gongora and Bianca Scalise. I love to link asanas together with creative transitions to help inspire you to drop out of expectation and into exploration.
My inherent love for nature inspired why I call my “brand” Wild Intent Yoga. I’m a big nature girl. I grew up here in Amador running around outside. Much of my practice is inspired by the primal movements i made as a child, running through the forest following my dog. I’m a firm believer that being in nature helps you find your wild intent. Getting dirty, climbing rocks and smelling the soil creates an unbreakable connection to our mother earth, and in turn deepens connection to yourself and others.
I’m also incredibly silly and love to crack jokes. The folks who come to my classes know that they’ll always get a chuckle alongisde their practice, while also finding a connection with yoga philosophy.
My teaching style is casual yet direct. I like to create an open environment for you to explore and enjoy feeling safe in your body. Curiosity is the name of the game. i’d like to think wild intent yoga can help you find your WIY for movement (see what i did there? Ha! clever girl…)
By finding your WIY, you build stronger relationships.
by finding your WIY, you come as you are and cultivate yourself.
So why dontcha come try one of my classes and find your WIY with Wild Intent Yoga.
See you on the mat!
xoxo, kels
